PBI Development – Shorebased Skills Development

Who:

This is a 1/2 – 1 day course for any Powerboat Instructor, any PBI’s who predominantly teach inland or anyone looking to complete their powerboat instructors course in the near future.

Why:

In our experience, Powerboat Instructors have always struggled with the shorebased teaching aspect of the various courses. This certainly was the case when I became a PBI. Over the last 6 years or so of running instructor training, a couple of reasons have immerged – 1) a lack of background knowledge and 2) how and what to teach and 3) how to make it interactive and engaging. We have designed this course to firmly take care of points 2 and 3. The day is run by Euan and will look at the shorebased elements of the course including whats in them, what to teach, ideas on how to teach it, when to stop teaching and very importantly tips on how to make you as the instructor feel comfortable and at home in the classroom as you are on the water.

Offsite Course:

  • This course can be conducted on your own premises, providing it is suitable for training. The cost above is effectively a hire-an-instructor cost and the cost stays the same whether there are 1 of you or 6. The only additional costs from us would be travel costs to get to your location.
  • During the course, you are responsible for any additional costs such as venue hire.
