Joining Instructions - RYA Advanced Powerboat

Timing

  • Day 1: 09:15 until dark, including night exercise.

  • Day 2: 09.15-17.00

Location

Equipment

  • You will be given the RYA Advanced Powerboat theory book on your arrival. If you have an RYA Logbook, please bring it with you.

Clothing

  • Life jackets and wet weather gear are available for use during the course but please make sure you bring the correct clothing for the expected weather.

  • A warm jumper, gloves and a hat are always advisable. A pair of wellies or waterproof shoes/boots are also highly recommended. A headtorch is highly recommended for the night exercise part on Day 1. 

Certificates

  • On successful completing of the course, you will be issued with an Advanced Powerboat Course completion certificate. Please bring a passport photo with you 

Accommodation

  • The course is non-residential, but there are several hotels and B&Bs in the near vicinity

Food

  • Tea, coffee and snacks are included, but meals are not. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or there is a shop nearby with takeaway rolls etc. Cafe Rhu in the Marina is open Wednesday - Sunday.
